The digital environment for work-based learning organisations
Guide participants, lighten the administrative load on coaches and strengthen digital skills — all in one environment.
Work-based learning organisations work with people, not case files. Yet a large part of a coach's day goes into recording, handover and accountability. Maxia brings guidance, administration and practice together in one place, within the frameworks of the Dutch Participation Act, sheltered employment, day activities and reintegration.
What Maxia solves
Five groups have a stake in the same system, with very different expectations: the organisation, the coach, the participant, the municipality that funds the programme and the employer the programme is working towards.
One working environment instead of separate systems
Guidance, administration and practice live in the same environment, within the Participation Act, sheltered employment, day activities and reintegration. No more loose lists and parallel records, each keeping its own version of the truth.
Keep the overview, and keep the knowledge
Coaches work more efficiently and keep an overview of their participants. Just as important: what they know stays in the system. Knowledge is no longer lost at handover or through staff turnover.
Practising with real digital tools
Participants learn to work with real digital tools, in a safe environment that fits their work-based learning programme. The digital skills they gain are skills they can use outside the organisation too.
Accountability without extra administration
The municipality usually funds the work-based learning organisation and wants to know what that investment delivers. Maxia provides up-to-date annual reports as PDF, with key figures, participant progress, funding programmes and anonymised case studies.
People who have already taken the step onto the work floor
In the end, a regular job is the destination of a work-based learning programme. Because participants practise with real work processes in Maxia — from reception and grounds maintenance to logistics, hospitality and facility management — they arrive at an employer with work experience rather than just a programme on paper. That makes the transition smaller for both sides.
One platform, built from modules
Organisations start small and expand when it suits them. A selection of what the platform now includes:
- Participant development — programmes, goals and activities
- Team tools — shared calendar, logbook and daily schedule
- Hours and leave — recording and approval in one dashboard
- HR planning — rosters, availability and capacity
- Facility management — rooms, flexible workspaces, reports and maintenance
- Lending service — keys, workwear, laptops and vehicles
- Self-guided learning module — instructions and training
- Ideas box — share ideas via a QR code
An organisation might start with Participant development and Team tools, for example, and add Facility management or Hours and leave later. If something is missing, we build it.
Built, operated and continuously improved
Maxia was built by BONS IT Solutions and is operated and further developed by us. Short iterations, silent updates: conceived today, in use this week — with no maintenance weekends or mandatory training sessions.
The base layer was already there
Maxia runs on Polaris, our validated model from which we generate platforms. Multi-tenancy, roles, audit logging, deployment pipelines and management tools are all part of that foundation as standard. So in this project, the attention goes to what work-based learning organisations really need, rather than to rebuilding the same base layer yet again.
